How does the Atlantic Program work? By working with leading vaccine manufacturers Sanofi Pasteur and Merck, all necessary pediatric, adolescent, adult, flu and travel vaccines (other than Prevnar) can be obtained under Atlantic's program. Once linked to our national agreements, practices benefit from our most favorable pricing, purchasing, and payment terms.
What are the advantages of the Atlantic Program? In addition to lowering vaccine costs, practices can better manage inventory and cash flow as you are not required to make large, multiple product orders. Furthermore, practices receive all the discounts at the time order which improves cash flow and administration. Atlantic’s arrangement with Sanofi Pasteur also provides lower prices for medical/surgical supplies and injectibles ordered on VaccineShoppe or VaxServe.
It is easy to see why Atlantic is the vaccine purchasing program most widely endorsed by physician organizations and has been nationally recognized by the AAP and AAFP.
How are purchases made? Practices place orders directly with the manufacturers, which in turn ship vaccines to the practice. Purchases can be made on-line, by phone, or with the manufacturers’ representatives and you also benefit from all promotions offered during the year by Sanofi Pasteur and Merck.
What are the purchasing requirements to participate? Practices agree to use Sanofi Pasteur and Merck products, except for Prevnar (which is purchased from Wyeth) or in the event of a product shortage. Vaccines provided by the State or part of the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program are also exempt from this requirement.
What is the cost to join? There is no cost to join the Atlantic Program.
What other support does Atlantic provide? Atlantic provides reimbursement, inventory management, and coding support along with sending members timely updates on new products, product promotions, and related topics.
